A stapled security is a combination of a Trust Unit and a Company Share that must be traded together as one security. Centro Retail Trust (CER) is a stapled security.

When you buy one CER security, you are buying a share in the company, Centro Retail Limited, and a unit in the trust, Centro Retail Trust.

What is CHESS?
CHESS is an abreviation for Clearing House Electronix Subregister System. this is the system used by the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) for trading all shares and securities.

What is CHESS Sponsored?
If you purchased your Centro Retail Trust (CER) securities using a stockbroker or online broker, you will have done so using CHESS.

You will have been issued with a Holder Identification Number (HIN) by your broker. These numbers start with the letter ‘X’.
What is Issuer Sponsored?
In certain circumstances it may be possible to purchase securities directly from the listed entity, and not through a broker. In these circumstances, your holding would be referred to as Issuer Sponsored i.e. no relationship with a stockbroker.

What is the Initial Cost Base for Centro Retail Trust?
The initial cost base for Centro Retail Trust (CER) securities acquired by distribution from Centro Properties Trust, as outlined in the CER Product Disclosure Statement, was determined to be $1.5453 per security. The cost base was calculated using a 10 day volume weighted average price (VWAP) over the first 10 days of trading on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
What is the difference between a Dividend and a Distribution?
A dividend is paid by a company to shareholders. A distribution is paid by a trust to unitholders.

Being a stapled security, Centro Retail Trust (CER) is able to pay a dividend from the company, and a distribution from the trust, or a combination of both.  To date, CER has only paid distributions from the trust.
When are Distributions Paid to Investors?
Centro Retail Trust (CER) pays distributions half yearly for the six month period ending 30 June (to be paid in August) and 31 December (to be paid in February) each year.


PLEASE NOTE: For reasons of prudence, given the uncompleted refinancing, CER will not declare any distribution for the half year ending 31 December 2007, at least until long term refinancing is finalised.

Does the Centro Retail Trust offer a Distribution Reinvestment Plan (DRP)?
Yes. Whilst it is the Centro Retail Trust's preference to offer the DRP, the Board will review its operation in light of Centro Retail Trust's needs. The Board may suspend the DRP as notified to the ASX from time to time.

What is the Current Value of my Investment?

When will I receive my Annual Tax Statement?
Annual taxation statements are mailed to investors at the end of August.

This statement summarises the taxation payments made throughout the year. Investors should wait to receive this statement before lodging their tax return.
How do I change my registered name or address?
Change of Name:

How you change your name on your holding will depend upon your individual circumstances.

If you are a CHESS sponsored investor, you must change your name via your broker.

If you are an Issuer Sponsored investor, you can change your name by completing a Name Correction Request and Indemnity Form. Please note that the registry is unable to accept requests by facsimile, email or phone.

The completed form should be accompanied by relevant supporting documentation. If you are signing under a power of attorney, a certified copy of the original power of attorney must be lodged with us for noting (if not already noted). Supporting documentation requirements differ, depending on the reason for the change of name:

Change of name by Marriage
The registry also require a certified copy of your marriage certificate.

Change of Maiden Name
If you wish to revert to your maiden name, the registry require a certified copy of your marriage certificate. 

Change of name by Deed Poll
The registry require a certified copy of the deed poll. 

Change of Company Name
The registry require a certified copy of the Certificate of Registration of Change of Name. 

Name Correction 
Complete a Name Correction Request and Indemnity Form.


Change of Address
:

If you are a CHESS sponsored investor, you will need to contact your stockbroker to change your address. They will then notify the registry.

If you are an Issuer Sponsored investor, the way in which you update your address will differ depending on your holding.

Individual Issuer Sponsored investors can update their address via the Registry Login. All other issuer sponsored investors (joint holders, companies, etc.) should complete a Change of Address Form.

How do I change my banking instructions for distribution payments?
Most individual holders can change their payment instructions via the Registry Login. All other holders (i.e. joint holders, companies, etc.) should complete a Payment Instructions Form

The registry will confirm your change of payment instructions in writing.
